How do I Make the Referral?

Log in to our Mobile App and tap Refer a Friend — you’ll be able to send a personalized text invitation to someone you know in just a few taps.

When your friend opens an account using the mobile number from your referral, you’ll both receive $50. It’s our way of celebrating meaningful connections and saying thanks for helping the Chartway community thrive—one friend at a time.

For you and a friend to both earn $50* your friend must:

Step 1

Open a personal checking account online or in any of our branches.

Step 2

Enroll in online banking

Step 3

Make 10 transactions with Chartway debit card within 60 days

Step 4

Make $500 or more in deposits within a monthly cycle

Disclosure

*Participants must be a U.S. legal resident at least 18 years of age. Chartway membership is required to participate in the referral program. Participants must register for Chartway online banking services. Referees must open a Chartway Prime Share savings account with a minimum deposit of $5. Additionally, Referees are required to open a Chartway checking account. Within 60 days of opening the checking account, the member must complete at least 10 debit card transactions.

Upon successful completion of the program requirements, a $50 bonus will be deposited into the member's Chartway checking account. No substitution for offer is allowed. Limit of $500 per calendar year.

If the checking account is closed less than 180 days after opening, the promotional deposit will be deducted from the account. The promotion is not valid for existing Chartway members. However, existing members can participate by referring new members but are not eligible to be referred themselves. Chartway reserves the right to change or terminate the program, terms, and conditions at any time at its sole discretion without prior notice. Participation in the Program constitutes acceptance of all these terms and conditions.

The program is designed exclusively for new members who meet Chartway’s membership eligibility criteria. Referrer and Referee must be  in good standing  at the time of bonus payment. Please see Chartway’s Membership  & Agreement for more details. Chartway’s decision regarding this offer is final and binding. Offer limited to Virginia, Texas, Utah, Nevada and North Carolina residents. The promotional offer is limited to one per new member and cannot be combined with other offers. Multiple checking accounts will not be eligible for an additional $50 bonus.
